πΌ About This Role
You'll own the systems engineering lifecycle for Electron's flight safety and autonomous flight termination systems. You'll define requirements, lead design trades, and execute testing from qualification through launch operations. This role offers the chance to drive safety-critical systems on the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket in a fast-paced space engineering team.
π― What You'll Do
- Own systems engineering lifecycle for Electron's FSS and AFTS.
- Define, manage, and verify system requirements and design trades.
- Plan and execute component- and system-level testing.
- Collaborate across hardware, software, avionics, and operations teams.
π Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent + 3+ years relevant industry experience.
- Strong systems engineering fundamentals including requirements management and testing.
- Experience solving complex engineering problems with technical judgment.
- Familiarity with avionics hardware, embedded systems, and Python or C++.
β¨ Nice to Have
- Experience with aerospace avionics or flight safety systems.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Jama.
- Knowledge of launch safety certification standards RCC-319/RCC-324.
