Description

You will work with a passionate development team to build scalable animation systems and workflows for BioShock, implementing and optimizing assets, authoring Animation Blueprints, and mentoring others in technical best practices.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in games development, preferably with at least one AAA title shipped.
  • Thorough knowledge of Animation Graphs, Blend Trees, Sequencer, State Machines.
  • Understanding of procedural runtime animation solutions (IK, Retargeting, Ragdoll, Cloth, Motion Matching, etc.).
  • Proficient in scripting (Python, MEL, or other) to streamline animation pipeline.
  • Understanding of reducing workload and improving character believability.
  • Understanding of documenting workflows and sharing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of applying animation principles for seamless motion combinations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and set up assets in the game engine.
  • Troubleshoot animation issues in Maya and the game engine.
  • Ensure assets and systems are optimized for run-time performance.
  • Author and maintain Animation Blueprints.
  • Author and maintain procedural animation (cloth, IK, etc.).
  • Tune and troubleshoot Motion Matching locomotion.
  • Refine workflows and content authoring processes.
  • Mentor and teach others on tool usages and technical workflows.
  • Create written or video documentation.
  • Take an active role in structure, organization, and performance of animation systems.
