💼 About This Role

You'll join the Surfaces squad within Spotify's Personalization mission, building systems that power real-time recommendations for the Now Playing View. You'll keep millions of users listening by making great recommendations to each and every one of them. This is a newly formed team working at the intersection of backend engineering and machine learning.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own backend systems for ranking and serving personalized content
• Integrate with ML serving infrastructure and deploy models
• Design patterns and tests for agent-generated code
• Run and analyze A/B experiments

📋 Requirements

• Experience with Java or a JVM language in microservices
• Ability to reason about system design tradeoffs
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code
• Product-oriented mindset with user engagement focus

• Experience working embedded in an ML team
• Familiarity with feature pipelines
