💼 About This Role

You'll own platform architecture and drive reliability for the ION Factory OS, powering next-gen manufacturing for rockets, eVTOLs, and clean energy systems. You'll establish SLOs, lead performance initiatives, and build scalable primitives that enable product teams to ship faster.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own platform architecture at scale: evaluate and evolve backend architecture.
• Drive reliability and uptime: establish SLOs, incident response, postmortem culture.
• Identify and lead initiatives to fix systemic performance bottlenecks.
• Review and de-risk infrastructure proposals and incoming changes.
• Create scalable primitives: libraries, patterns, tooling, platform services.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and operating high-availability services.
• Strong systems thinking across distributed systems, databases, and cloud.
• Track record of leading large technical initiatives across teams.

✨ Nice to Have

• Prior experience as a Staff/Principal Engineer at a high-scale infrastructure org.
• Depth in SRE, performance engineering, or database scalability.
• Experience building internal platforms for other engineers.
