💼 About This Role
You'll join the CIH Data Analytics organization to turn housing market analysis into editorial content for agents, consumers, and media. You'll work directly with the Chief Economist to find stories in data and communicate them through written reports, data visualizations, and social media. This role blends journalism and data science to shape how people understand housing markets.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Write and edit market reports, economic commentaries, and narrative summaries.
- Translate quantitative analysis into stories for non-expert audiences.
- Produce charts, graphics, and interactive visualizations with Flourish or Datawrapper.
- Adapt research content for social media, email, press releases, and agent materials.
📋 Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a data journalist, business reporter, or editor.
- Proven track record of publishing work that translates data for general audiences.
- Experience pulling, cleaning, and analyzing datasets with Excel, Python, or R.
- Experience producing graphics for publication using Flourish, Datawrapper, or similar.
✨ Nice to Have
- Background in business, financial, or economic journalism.
- Familiarity with real estate data sources like MLS, Census, or BLS.
- Experience in a chief economist's team or media outlet.
