Description

You will help design, build, and operate core infrastructure enabling Planet's engineering teams to deploy and scale services reliably. You'll work on platform modernization, manage Kubernetes clusters, enhance observability, and collaborate with software engineers to improve developer experience.

Requirements

• 4+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, ArgoCD) and IaC (Terraform, Crossplane)
• Proficiency in Go or Python with Docker and CI/CD workflows
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production environments and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions for security and scalability
• Drive platform modernization initiatives migrating from legacy tooling
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters and tooling
• Enhance observability using Grafana and establish SLOs
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to refine developer experience
