You'll lead Fastly's Kernel engineering team, critical to optimizing the low-latency data path for our edge cloud platform. Your work directly impacts every customer's traffic traversing the Linux kernel and XDP, making this role central to our business. This team keeps Fastly at the forefront of Linux networking innovation, contributing to upstream releases and supporting hardware platforms.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define long-term strategy for Edge Linux Networking
• Lead, mentor, and coach kernel developers and SREs
• Co-develop solutions across kernel, XDP, and user agents
• Prioritize roadmap based on cross-functional needs

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years leading engineering teams
• 10+ years of low-level systems software engineering
• 5+ years in Linux kernel development and maintenance
• Expertise in network data path and deployment methodologies

• Experience scaling engineering organizations through rapid growth
• Incident response including security vulnerabilities
