Description

You will manage and supervise a team handling homeownership preservation cases, including foreclosure defense, and help develop a Surrogate's Court practice to preserve family homes. You'll also lead policy advocacy and manage grant reporting and personnel issues.

Requirements

• J.D. and license to practice law in New York
• Demonstrated experience in foreclosure defense litigation
• Excellent writing, communication, and oral presentation skills
• Leadership and supervision skills for a team including attorneys and paralegals
• Proficiency in MS Office suite

Responsibilities

• Supervise HCRP advocates in foreclosure defense and homeownership preservation litigation
• Manage intake, case assessment, negotiations, and litigation including pleadings and appeals
• Develop and strengthen relationships with community-based organizations
• Manage grant reporting, pursue funding opportunities, and handle personnel issues
• Lead strategic advocacy to expand homeowner rights
