💼 About This Role

You'll lead the bare metal platform (vMetal) at vCluster Labs, turning a rack of servers into a programmable platform. You'll own architecture, drive the roadmap, and set the technical bar as the team grows. This role sits at the rare intersection of out-of-band server management and modern Go services.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own technical direction of the vMetal platform and drive architecture decisions.
• Build Go services for bare metal provisioning via Redfish, IPMI, and PXE.
• Automate server discovery, provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with customer engineering to debug and harden production workloads.
• Set technical bar in interviews and mentor engineers on bare metal concepts.

📋 Requirements

• Go fluency with production services, APIs, and libraries.
• Bare metal operations depth with Redfish and IPMI in production.
• Bare-metal-as-a-service background at an AI Cloud or hyperscaler.
• Technical leadership through architecture decisions and hands-on mentorship.

• Kubernetes internals, controllers, or operators.
• AI Cloud or hyperscaler production experience.
• Open source contributions to projects like Tinkerbell, Metal3, Cluster API, or Ironic.
