💼 About This Role

You'll build system-level software and distributed systems from scratch for the Railway platform. Your work will directly impact how engineers deploy and scale applications, enabling them to focus on building rather than infrastructure. This role offers high autonomy and ownership in a small, global team.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build system-level software from first principles
• Implement Golang/Rust gRPC services for scalable infrastructure
• Design and maintain fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Participate in oncall rotation as needed

📋 Requirements

• Strong understanding of distributed systems
• Experience building fault-tolerant services
• Ability to implement and monitor solutions with error boundaries
• Experience in early-stage startup environments with ambiguity

✨ Nice to Have

• OS-level curiosity in CPU, memory, network, and kernel
• Knowledge of both raft consensus and simpler solutions like Postgres
• Communication skills for cross-team collaboration
