Description

As a Clinical Lab Technologist, you will process biological samples for DNA extraction and next-generation sequencing in a regulated clinical lab, ensuring accurate test results for patients and clinicians. You'll work in a collaborative, high-throughput environment using automation and molecular biology techniques.

Requirements

• Molecular biology skills (DNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, DNA sequencing)
• Experience with human specimens (blood, tissues, cells) and biohazards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Level I: Bachelor's in medical technology/laboratory science or chemical/biological sciences + 6 months high-complexity clinical lab experience; Level II: Bachelor's + 1 year high-complexity clinical lab + 3 years molecular lab (or 2 years with Master's); Level III: Bachelor's + 3 years high-complexity clinical lab + 5 years molecular lab (or 3 years with Master's)

Responsibilities

• Process clinical and research biological samples for DNA extraction, PCR, and high-throughput sequencing
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including liquid handling robotics and DNA sequencers
• Adhere to CLIA, CAP, NYS, FDA, and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records following Good Documentation Practices
• Provide guidance to less-experienced staff (Level I) or perform training/competency assessments (Level II), or suggest procedural improvements (Level III)
