💼 About This Role

You'll define and drive the long-term technical vision for Okta's core platform and infrastructure. You'll balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on engineering, ensuring scalable, resilient systems that support rapid global growth. This role offers the chance to mentor senior staff and partner with product leadership on mission-critical initiatives.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define the backend architectural roadmap with leadership.
• Design and review low-latency, multi-tenant distributed systems.
• Establish engineering standards for design patterns and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Security on mission-critical initiatives.

📋 Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record in distributed systems and multi-tenant SaaS.
• Mastery of at least one backend language: Java, C#, Go, or Python.
• Deep expertise with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes.

✨ Nice to Have

• Advanced knowledge of RESTful, GraphQL, or gRPC API design.
• Strong advocacy for TDD and Domain-Driven Design.
• Deep understanding of encryption and identity management (OAuth/OIDC).
