You'll work with Professor Oeindrila Dube on applying NLP and machine learning to body-worn camera footage to build tools that improve policing outcomes. This hands-on role at the frontier of computer science and economics aims to change how police interact with the public using causal evidence.
π― What You'll Do
- Collect and process tabular and spatial data
- Develop algorithms to clean and organize data
- Conduct statistical analyses and run simulations
- Prepare manuscripts and presentations
π Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in CS, economics, statistics, math or related field
- At least one year of relevant research experience
- Strong programming skills in Python or R
- Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch)

- Experience with NLP, speech/ASR, or computer vision
- Familiarity with Stata
- Exposure to causal inference or program evaluation
