You'll lead rotordynamic analysis and mechanical design of turbomachinery systems for supersonic aircraft. You'll own the full lifecycle from analytical modeling to test validation. This role offers direct impact on real flying hardware at a fast-moving aerospace startup.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Lead rotordynamic analysis including critical speed, stability, and imbalance response.
- Define bearing selection, preload, stiffness/damping, and thermal management.
- Execute rotordynamic test campaigns and reduce vibration data.
- Develop computational models (StarCCM+, AxSTREAM) with rotordynamic constraints.
- Define GD&T for rotating assemblies considering balance and seal clearances.
๐ Requirements
- 5+ years in turbomachinery design with rotordynamic analysis on real hardware.
- Hands-on experience with rotordynamic modelling tools (DyRoBes or equivalent).
- Experience with CFD and compressor geometry (StarCCM+, AxStream).
- Proficiency in CAD for rotating assemblies (Siemens NX).

- Experience with propulsion cycle tools (GasTurb, NPSS).
- Scripting for analysis automation (Python, MATLAB).
- Effective communicator for cross-functional design reviews.
