Description

As a Systems Engineer II at Rocket Lab's Optical Systems site in Tucson, AZ, you will design, develop, and test space-based electro-optical sensors for defense and intelligence missions. You'll manage requirements, lead verification activities, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver complex space payloads.

Requirements

• Experience in systems engineering for space or defense programs
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
• Background in electro-optical or infrared systems
• Familiarity with requirements management and verification methods
• Ability to travel or work off-site as needed

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and develop space-based optical instruments and payloads
• Define, allocate, and manage technical requirements ensuring traceability
• Lead requirements definition and allocation across development lifecycle
• Prepare technical documentation including ICDs, CONOPs, and test plans
• Support hardware and software development with system-level test and integration
