Description

As a Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starlink's in-house PCB production line, you'll support quality and reliability efforts from material selection through end-user performance, conduct root cause investigations using physics-of-failure analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of reliability for PCBs used in satellites, user terminals, and other hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or other applied engineering discipline
  • 1+ years experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering (internship/extracurricular applicable)
  • Familiarity with IPC or similar test standards for PCBs
  • Understanding of core physics-of-failure concepts for common PCB issues
  • Hands-on experience or coursework with reliability testing, environmental chambers, or data analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and engineering teams to verify PCBs satisfy mission profile requirements for space and terrestrial environments
  • Conduct root cause investigations for reliability and quality escalations using physics-of-failure approaches
  • Execute environmental, mechanical, and electrical testing for new PCB designs in alignment with IPC standards
  • Collect and analyze test data from accelerated life testing to support reliability assessments and modeling
  • Develop quality standards and contribute to process improvements and yield enhancement initiatives
