💼 About This Role

You'll own the electrical design for volume production of ground systems supporting autonomous drone operations at Zipline. You will drive trade studies, make impactful design decisions, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure robust, reliable systems for critical deliveries in harsh environments. This role offers the chance to scale impact from 100k to 100M deliveries annually.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own electrical design through full cycle: requirements, prototype, schematic, layout, validation.
• Lead trade studies and provide direction for risk reduction.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with reliability, mechanical, embedded, and systems engineers.
• Support manufacturing, certification, deployment, and field issue troubleshooting.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hardware design experience including electronics circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, integration, and production transition.
• Experience developing electronics for critical systems (energy, transportation, or medical devices).
• Design experience with mixed-signal PCB, high-speed digital PCB, microprocessor, ethernet, power electronics, and motor drive.

• Design experience with UL safety and EMC requirements.
• Embedded programming experience in Linux system.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering disciplines.
