Description
You'll join the Target ID team at Recursion, **bridging biology and data science** to discover novel therapeutic targets at scale. You'll integrate massive internal multi-omic data with patient datasets to propose and validate targets, while guiding the development of **semi-automated agentic tools** for portfolio oversight. This role uniquely combines deep biological expertise with data science fluency, enabling you to orient a highly technical team toward reliable biological applications.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology or related field with **3+ years** industry experience, or MS with **5+ years**.
- Deep experience in **target discovery** and functional genomics.
- Proficiency in **Python** and/or R with data science tech stack fluency.
- Experience with patient data such as **transcriptomics** and genetics/GWAS.
Responsibilities
- Propose and validate novel targets using integration of patient data and internal multi-omic data.
- Collaborate with data scientists to build semi-automated and agentic target discovery tools.
- Apply statistical methods like causal inference and survival modeling to establish target-patient connections.
- Translate platform findings into disease-relevant applications for drug discovery insights.
