💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design of next-generation qubit chips and modular, scalable QPU architecture. You'll design and optimise nonreciprocal superconducting circuits such as parametric amplifiers for robust readout chains. This role offers the chance to work in a tight feedback loop with experimentalists, driving rapid design iterations.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and simulate cutting-edge quantum hardware for improved performance and scalability.
• Develop high-performance, manufacturable device architectures to increase qubit fidelity and yield.
• Architect and optimize layout of nonreciprocal superconducting circuits for cryogenic conditions.
• Automate design pipeline using Python for parametric generation, simulation sweeps, and data processing.

📋 Requirements

• MSc in Physics, EE or related field with 2+ years industry experience or PhD with relevant work
• Strong Python skills for automating designs and analyzing data
• Experience with EM simulation and chip design tools (e.g. Ansys HFSS-Q3D, KLayout)
• Knowledge of cQED devices and superconducting circuit design

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience designing nonreciprocal superconducting circuits (e.g. parametric amplifiers)
• Familiarity with Git and Qiskit-Metal
• Solid grasp of microwave engineering and quantum noise sources
