Description

You will design and deliver support systems for autonomous underwater vehicles, collaborating with electrical and systems teams to ensure effective deployment and maintenance in rugged environments. This role directly contributes to national defense priorities by advancing maritime autonomous systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years mechanical design and testing experience in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems
• Proven CAD skills (Siemens NX preferred) and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
• Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver support systems for Copperhead UUVs including launch/recovery mechanisms, handling gear, and transportation solutions
• Select, qualify, and manage vendors for COTS components and outsourced manufacturing
• Own mechanical system development from concept to low rate production
• Lead technical efforts to define requirements and verify support systems
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure system reliability and cost-effectiveness
