💼 About This Role

You'll design and build backend services for Block's financial platform, working with agentic coding tools to transform complex financial requirements into scalable solutions. Your work will power revenue streams, reconciliations, and financial reporting across all brands. This role emphasizes AI-driven development and cross-functional collaboration.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and implement backend services for Accounting, FP&A, Tax, and Procurement.
• Architect migration of business-critical workflows from legacy platforms to internal systems.
• Build configurable workflow engines and event-driven automations.
• Own integrations with external systems via APIs and event streams.

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years working on complex systems delivering quality software.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design handling high throughput.
• Experience with workflow or state machine systems designing complex lifecycles.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining APIs and integrations (REST, gRPC, event-driven).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with platform migrations of business-critical systems.
• Experience in financially sensitive or regulated systems.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
