Description

You will own and evolve Airtable's design system, bridging design and code in Figma and production. You'll build and ship components, champion AI-assisted UI development, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the quality of user experiences across the platform.

Requirements

• 8+ years at the intersection of design and engineering with experience evolving design systems
• Deep fluency in design tokens, component architecture, theming, and WCAG accessibility standards
• Strong design craft with polished portfolio showing both application-level design and production-quality code libraries
• Active curiosity about AI-assisted development with hands-on experimentation using LLM-driven tooling
• Ability to influence through craft, clarity, and relationships in a cross-functional environment

Responsibilities

• Assess and evolve the existing design system, closing the gap between design specs and implementation
• Build and ship components and design tokens while evolving contribution standards
• Develop and evangelize a point of view on AI-assisted UI development, experimenting with tooling and workflows
• Build and maintain AI tooling layer for UI such as Claude skills, Cursor rules, and LLM-consumable documentation
• Partner with designers, engineers, and accessibility teams to improve system quality through advocacy, documentation, and tooling
