💼 About This Role

You'll scale and evolve backend systems for a user research platform, owning critical infrastructure like email/SMS delivery and data pipelines. Your work directly shapes how product teams connect with users and scale high-quality research. You'll join a small, senior team building an AI-native research platform trusted by Google, Adobe, and Figma.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Scale backend systems for large-scale participant and event data
• Own and mature email/SMS delivery, data sync pipelines, and search APIs
• Design and implement backend services and APIs in TypeScript
• Mentor engineering hires through code reviews and pairing

📋 Requirements

• 3+ years experience building complex backend systems in production
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals
• Experience scaling infrastructure from 1→10
• Comfort with AWS, Postgres, and event-driven systems like Kafka

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems patterns (microservices, event-driven, Temporal)
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup
• Exposure to search technologies (Elasticsearch) or messaging infrastructure
