Description

You will serve as lead engineer on vertical building and bridge design projects, performing structural analysis, preparing calculations, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with architects and contractors. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, engaging projects with increasing responsibility.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• PE License in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 6 years of vertical building design and miscellaneous structural design experience including structural steel, reinforced concrete, concrete masonry, and timber.
• Proficient with steel lateral systems and shear walls.
• Strong working knowledge of current IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC 360.
• Experience working with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, and local municipalities.
• Excellent communication and client relation skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis/FEM modeling software.
• Eagerness to learn MicroStation Connects, Open Roads, and Open Bridge Design software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead engineer on vertical building, miscellaneous structural, and PennDOT bridge design projects.
• Lead structural analysis and design for vertical building projects including structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber elements.
• Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for PennDOT bridge structure projects.
• Perform condition assessments on structures and develop findings reports.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to growth of structural team.
• Assume responsibility for design calculations and structural details, ensuring QC reviews.
• Manage compilation and coordination of plans and specifications with architects, MEP consultants, and contractors.
• Provide construction support by reviewing shop drawings and answering RFIs.
• Coordinate tasks with Project Manager.
