Description

You will develop guidance and structural analysis tools for SpaceX's reusable launch vehicles, perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structures, and support rapid design and testing cycles on development hardware at Starbase, TX.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or physics
• 5+ years professional experience in structural analysis with commercial FEA package (ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc.)
• Proficiency with FEA solvers like ABAQUS, ANSYS, or Nastran
• Advanced proficiency with pre/post-processors and scripting (ABAQUS/CAE, ANSA/META, etc.)
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen or permanent resident)

Responsibilities

• Develop guidance and structural analysis tools company-wide
• Perform structural analysis including FEA and hand calculations
• Develop load paths and conduct preliminary sizing of metallic and composite structures
• Support rapid design, analysis, and testing cycles on development hardware
• Perform peer review of models, analysis, and tests
