💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and development of complex electromechanical hardware for Zipline's autonomous delivery system, from concept to scaled production. Your work will directly impact the reliability of drone delivery operations in demanding field conditions. You'll collaborate across teams to deliver hardware that is manufacturable, serviceable, and built to scale.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own mechanical systems from concept through production and deployment
• Develop elegant design solutions for highly integrated electromechanical hardware
• Translate system requirements into robust architectures and validation plans
• Perform first-principles analysis, FEA, and tolerance analysis

📋 Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience designing electromechanical assemblies
• Proven ownership of complex subassemblies through multiple product cycles
• Demonstrated CAD fluency for system-level ownership (20-30 parts simultaneously)
• Experience with DFM and supplier collaboration

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with structural components and mechanisms
• Background in GD&T, FEA, and design for assembly
