You'll design and prototype novel architectures leveraging modern hardware, collaborate with engineering teams to translate research into practical solutions, and publish in top-tier conferences.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science with specialization in database systems
• 12+ years of experience in large-scale software development including databases and distributed systems
• Proven track record of impactful publications in top-tier database conferences
• Expertise in query optimization, efficient data structures, and high-performance database architectures
• Experience in building research prototypes and conducting empirical studies

Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative research in query optimization, indexing, storage engines, and performance optimization
• Design, prototype, and evaluate novel database systems leveraging modern hardware (SIMD, GPU, multicore)
• Collaborate with Engineering to translate research into commercial products
• Publish research in top-tier conferences (VLDB, SIGMOD)
• Build and mentor a database systems research group
