💼 About This Role

You'll own Wayve's US public policy program, with an initial focus on California. You'll define and deliver regulatory wins that enable testing and commercialization of autonomous vehicles. This role combines deep policy expertise with technical fluency in AI and autonomous driving.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and own US public policy strategy and multi-state playbook
• Lead engagement with federal agencies, Congressional offices, and standards bodies
• Advocate for regulatory approaches enabling safe AV testing and deployment
• Build coalitions with industry partners, trade associations, and think tanks

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory affairs
• Deep knowledge of US federal AV regulatory landscape and California regulatory environment
• Demonstrated success influencing national and state policy outcomes
• Strong technical literacy in autonomous vehicles, AI, data, and safety

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with international automotive regulatory fora e.g. UNECE
• Knowledge of Type Approval or other international automotive regulation
