Description

You will manage technical projects to develop and qualify equipment, tooling, and processes for producing plastic injection molds and high-pressure die cast tools. You'll bring an open mindset to challenge traditional approaches and use a disciplined method to select optimal solutions for in-house machining capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with CNC machining
  • Willingness to travel (~15%) and work long hours/weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for long periods

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-house machining capability for tool die team, delivering high-precision piece parts for internal tooling
  • Analyze parts for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize for manufacturing and assembly
  • Create collaborative plans with design engineering, production, and support teams, maintaining supplier/customer relationships
  • Implement machining process controls for 'lights out' operation, leveraging latest technologies and programming strategies
  • Research and identify new materials, manufacturing technologies, and finishing options
