💼 About This Role

You'll join Waymo's Compute Team to develop test methods for wireless technologies in autonomous driving platforms. You'll lead fleet-wide connectivity initiatives and resolve performance issues across the US and internationally. This role offers hands-on work with cutting-edge compute hardware for the world's most experienced driver.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Create test methods and performance metrics for wireless technologies like 5G NR and Wi-Fi.
• Cultivate automated test scripts and operate sophisticated measurement equipment.
• Perform deep-dive analysis on logs to resolve hardware/software issues with cross-functional teams.
• Lead fleet-wide connectivity initiatives for congestion, priority, and coverage.
• Conduct targeted field experiments to evaluate wireless technology performance.

📋 Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5 years industry experience.
• Hands-on experience with live network testing, including test plan creation and log analysis.
• Expertise in using wireless testing equipment such as Call Boxes and GNSS Simulators.
• Practical experience in at least one wireless technology (5G NR, LTE, GNSS, BLE, Wi-Fi).

• Comfortable working with hardware and supporting engineering debugging.
• Deep understanding of cellular protocol stack from PHY/MAC to higher layers.
• Knowledge of antenna/RF design concepts.
