Description
As a Graduate Software Engineer at Canonical, you will work on open source software across the full Linux stack, from kernel to cloud, using languages like Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, and JavaScript. You'll shape product roadmaps, write high-quality code, engage with the open source community, and solve challenging problems, all while working remotely with global team sprints twice a year.
Requirements
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related field with programming courses
- Confidence to deliver high quality code in Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript, or Java
- Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution
- Professional written and spoken English
Responsibilities
- Shape the roadmap for your product at global sprints every six months
- Focus on design and user experience for developer tooling and command line apps
- Write high quality, resilient and performant code
- Engage with users and the open source community through code reviews and issue trackers
- Respond to customer issues and develop understanding of enterprise requirements
