As a Staff Engineer, you'll drive architectural excellence across product engineering pods, designing low-latency systems for dynamic pricing, large-scale inventory processing, and vendor coordination. Partner with engineering managers to reduce technical debt, improve stability, and build resilient system boundaries, directly impacting millions of travelers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in backend systems and distributed architectures
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives across organizational boundaries
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, Kotlin, and Java
• Strong foundation in distributed systems concepts and proven ability to design at scale
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, relational databases, NoSQL, Redis, and AWS

Responsibilities

• Design very low-latency systems for dynamic pricing and large-scale inventory processing
• Lead systematic reduction of technical debt across multiple pods
• Own architectural decisions spanning multiple pods and teams
• Partner with Engineering Managers to balance technical excellence with delivery velocity
• Elevate engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship
