💼 About This Role

You'll own board-level high-speed electrical design for 1.6T DR8 OSFP optical modules, driving pre-layout simulations through validation and production support. Your impact will ensure robust signal integrity for 200G PAM4 lanes in a ground-floor photonics startup backed by Mayfield.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Perform pre- and post-layout SI simulations for 200G PAM4 channels
• Define PCB stack-up, materials, via technology, and routing rules
• Generate SI/PI design guidelines and review schematics and layout
• Plan and execute lab bring-up with TDR, VNA, and eye measurements

📋 Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in high-speed board-level SI for networking or optical modules
• Hands-on with SI simulation tools (Sigrity, ADS, HFSS, SIwave, HSPICE) on SerDes ≥56G
• Proven track record defining PCB stack-ups and routing rules for multi-hundred-Gbps interfaces
• Solid lab skills with high-bandwidth scopes, VNAs, BERTs, and TDRs

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with OSFP/QSFP-DD optical transceiver modules at 800G/1.6T
• Familiarity with high-speed optical components (drivers, TIAs, CDRs, DSPs)
• Exposure to IEEE 802.3 DR8/FR8/LR8 or OIF/OTN standards
