You'll manage daily visual workflow for a fast-paced newsroom, editing photography and commissioning illustration for breaking news and enterprise stories. You'll collaborate closely with reporters and editors to shape compelling visual journalism across Maryland. This hybrid role offers the chance to work with a dedicated visuals team and influence story presentation from pitch to publication.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Manage daily visual workflow for stories across Maryland
• Edit photography on deadline with rigorous caption accuracy
• Assign staff and freelance photographers for breaking news and features
• Brainstorm visual approaches with reporters and editors
• Art direct illustrations and create photo illustrations when needed

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience editing visuals in a newsroom
• Excellent news judgment and understanding of visual ethics
• Fluency in Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Photo Mechanic
• Experience commissioning photography, illustration, or video
