💼 About This Role

You'll build and mature Upstart's privacy program, embedding privacy-by-design into AI models and financial products. You'll partner with Engineering, Product, and Legal to ensure compliance with regulations like GLBA and CCPA. This role shapes privacy for a leading AI lending platform.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build and mature Upstart's privacy program aligned with regulations.
• Lead privacy impact assessments for new products and AI models.
• Partner with Engineering to embed privacy-by-design into data pipelines.
• Maintain privacy documentation for audits and regulatory expectations.

📋 Requirements

• 3–7+ years of privacy/compliance experience in fintech or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of GLBA, FCRA, ECOA, CCPA/CPRA.
• Experience conducting DPRAs/PIAs/DPIAs and managing privacy controls.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into engineering requirements.

✨ Nice to Have

• Professional privacy certifications like CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT.
• Experience with credit decisioning, lending, or underwriting.
• Familiarity with model governance and AI/ML lifecycle.
