💼 About This Role

You'll build and maintain the software that enables Matter's sensing systems to operate reliably in constrained environments, spanning embedded Linux, onboard data handling, and test infrastructure. Your core impact will be designing robust interfaces and debugging across hardware and software boundaries. This role offers the opportunity to shape flight software engineering culture at an early-stage company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and implement flight software services for sensing payload operations
• Build robust interfaces to hardware including drivers and protocol integrations
• Develop software for embedded Linux environments like Jetson-class devices
• Build data paths for collection, compression, storage, and downlink

📋 Requirements

• 2–6+ years of professional flight or embedded software experience
• Strong programming skills in Python and either C++ or Rust
• Experience with multi-threading, memory management, and constrained-system design
• Hands-on experience with CMake or Make and embedded Linux

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated test systems, and GitLab
• Hardware-in-the-loop testing or simulation infrastructure experience
• Onboard data path architecture under real-world constraints
