Description

You will build and lead a high-performing tax operations team, owning end-to-end tax compliance and accuracy for thousands of businesses. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving process improvements and leveraging AI tools to scale operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years leading operations or compliance teams in tech, fintech, or scaling startup; payroll or tax experience a strong plus
• Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction payroll tax filing (federal, state, local) including refiles and notice resolution
• Demonstrated ability to lead FTEs and contractors in a fast-moving operational environment
• Track record of driving process improvement and building scalable operations
• Comfort using AI tools to improve workflows and drive efficiency

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of tax professionals (FTEs and contractors), setting accountability and developing talent
• Set and enforce high quality bar for accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness across tax operations
• Own partner experience for tax filings, notices, and escalations with urgency and transparency
• Drive process improvements using AI tools to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
• Act as primary escalation point for complex or high-risk tax issues
