Description

You will lead and grow Benesch's Transportation practice in Iowa, opening a new office, building a team, and developing client relationships. You'll manage roadway and bridge design, traffic engineering, hydraulics, construction management, and transportation planning projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Iowa or AICP certification preferred.
  • Strong background working with the Iowa DOT, with advanced experience in at least one of the Bureaus.
  • Located in Iowa, ready to participate in meetings and industry events statewide.
  • Ability to write and prepare effective project proposals and non-technical documents.
  • Thorough understanding of state and local design standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for understanding and adhering to contractual requirements.
  • Proven track record in adhering to design budgets and schedules.
  • Skills in accounting and scheduling to manage projects.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow our Iowa-based transportation practice.
  • Contribute to local, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Represent Benesch in industry and at professional organizations and events.
  • Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits.
  • Draw upon existing industry relationships and establish new ones to develop strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrate a proven record of effectively directing multiple concurrent projects and pursuits.
  • Be accountable for sales and operational key performance indicators in the Iowa market.
  • Review and verify scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Actively recruit, interview, and hire individuals who can contribute to the transportation practice.
