You will ensure the accuracy of medical claims before transmission to payers, including validating CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes. Your work will directly support accessible and affordable healthcare for diverse populations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines (HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid)
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS codes
• Knowledge of coding and billing principles and guidelines

Responsibilities

• Assign/remove CPT, HCPCS and modifiers during claim validation
• Prepare and review super bill/claims prior to submission
• Identify coding trends to improve quality and efficiency
• Check insurance payments for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Research and appeal denied claims
