You'll lead the Freepool team, owning pre-provisioned compute VMs that guarantee fast resume times and availability for Snowflake's Data Cloud. You'll drive the evolution of these core services to meet cost, customer experience, and availability expectations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the vision and architecture of foundational infrastructure.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead a team of engineers building scalable distributed systems
• Design and implement fault-tolerant services for compute infrastructure
• Ensure operational readiness and meet customer availability commitments
• Translate product requirements into engineering work for the team

📋 Requirements

• 9+ years industry experience building large scale production systems
• 2+ years experience managing junior and senior engineers
• Experience building distributed fault-tolerant services and control planes
• Excellent understanding of OS concepts like multi-threading and memory management

✨ Nice to Have

• Background in capacity management or cluster scheduling
• Track record of recruiting and leading technical teams
• Masters or PhD in Computer Science
