💼 About This Role

You'll build AI platform infrastructure at Toast, including the LLM proxy, agentic workflows, and plugin marketplace. Your work will empower hundreds of engineers to ship AI-powered features reliably and at scale. This team is pioneering agentic development practices that redefine how software is built.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and ship features across AI platform infrastructure (LLM proxy, agentic workflows, plugin marketplace)
• Develop autonomous agents for the SDLC, e.g., AI Review GitHub App and MCP integrations
• Build plugins that encode architectural standards into AI assistant behavior
• Implement MCP services and templates to accelerate AI workflow creation
• Write high-quality code and participate in design/code reviews

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years designing and implementing scalable backend services
• Experience building or operating LLM-powered agents or AI developer tooling
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and extending them via plugins
• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool use patterns, or agentic integration frameworks
• Strong foundation in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language

• Familiarity with A2A protocols and multi-agent orchestration patterns
• Experience with ML concepts, model evaluation, or ML infrastructure
• Experience building developer experience platforms or internal tooling
