💼 About This Role

You'll build Roofr's legal function from scratch as the first dedicated hire, reporting to the CEO. You'll own commercial contracts, employment matters, corporate governance, and privacy compliance for a high-growth SaaS startup. This high-impact role offers significant influence and the chance to shape a legal team's foundation.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer and vendor agreements
• Advise People team on employment law and employee relations
• Manage corporate governance, equity, and financing support
• Oversee privacy compliance (CCPA, PIPEDA) and IP portfolio

📋 Requirements

• J.D. from accredited law school and active bar admission
• 8–12+ years legal experience with law firm and in-house mix
• Generalist background across commercial, employment, and corporate
• Experience at a scaling startup (Series A to C or beyond)
