You'll lead the optical design and architecture of novel spaceborne imaging systems for defense applications. Your work will directly impact mission-critical capabilities for U.S. and allied forces. This role offers the opportunity to drive full product lifecycle from concept to flight testing.

๐ŸŽฏ What You'll Do

  • Lead optical architecture decisions and trades for new missions.
  • Design lenses and components for high-performance imaging.
  • Develop test setups and procedures for R&D to production transition.
  • Analyze prototype optical system performance and root cause errors.

๐Ÿ“‹ Requirements

  • BS in Engineering with concentration in Optics (MS/PhD preferred).
  • 7+ years experience with complex opto-mechanical systems.
  • Expertise with Zemax or similar optical design software.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance.

โœจ Nice to Have

  • Experience with STOP analysis and diffraction-limited imaging.
  • Team leadership and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Radiometry and stray light analysis experience.
