💼 About This Role

You'll own the multi-region data architecture for a Tier-1 US payments platform, defining replication patterns and DR strategies across six AWS database engines. Your designs will directly enable an active-active multi-region cloud modernization. You'll lead a team of database engineers and produce regulatory-grade audit artifacts.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define cross-region replication patterns for each database engine.
• Set RTO/RPO commitments and validate with Fault Injection Service.
• Sequence data-layer cutover across three program phases.
• Lead team of database engineers and review designs.

📋 Requirements

• 12+ years in database engineering and architecture.
• Multi-region active-passive and active-active AWS data architectures in production.
• Production experience with Aurora MySQL and at least three of: Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/MemoryDB, DocumentDB, Neptune.
• Fintech or payments domain experience with ledger correctness and regulatory compliance.

✨ Nice to Have

• Prior consulting experience with AWS modernization RFP-defined SOW.
• Experience with AWS Application Recovery Controller Region Switch.
• Cell-based architecture patterns for blast-radius reduction.
