Description

You will lead a team to design, integrate, and validate high-performance electromechanical actuators for flight-critical applications on an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. This role involves owning the mechanical design from concept through production, performing trade studies, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver a optimized integrated system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 8+ years experience in actuated mechanism or electromechanical system design
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex engineering problems
• Experience with GD&T, kinematic analysis, structural analysis, and FEA tools (Siemens NX, ANSYS)
• Experience with rolling element bearing and gear design, ball/lead screw design

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electromechanical actuation systems from concept through production
• Own mechanical design and integration of motors, geartrains, screws, bearings, brakes, housings, sensors, and electronics
• Perform trade studies to optimize system architecture and mass while meeting performance and fault-tolerance requirements
• Drive cross-functional project teams coordinating with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and test engineering
• Lead design reviews and provide technical expertise for key decisions
