You'll design and build scalable backend services in Golang and Kotlin for SumUp's Global Expansion Acquiring Squad, owning critical systems across multiple markets. Your core impact will be enabling reliable merchant onboarding and transaction processing in new countries like Mexico and Canada. You'll also configure AI coding assistants and build agents that automate repetitive development tasks, making the entire team faster.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable backend services in Golang and Kotlin

📋 Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Golang or a JVM language like Java or Kotlin
• Experience configuring AI coding assistants at a team level
• Solid understanding of idempotency and transaction safety in payment systems
• Comfort working across multiple teams and navigating ambiguity

• Experience with fintech or payment systems
• Experience with distributed systems and fault tolerance
• Familiarity with OpenAPI and integration testing
