Description

As a Senior Level Designer at 2K Sports Lab, you will drive the creation of a player-centric game world using Unreal Engine, collaborating with art and design directors to define the vision. Your work will involve both experiential design and hands-on level blockouts to deliver an exceptional sports gaming experience.

Requirements

• 5 years experience in Level Design in AAA Gaming space
• Experience level designing high quality worlds in Unreal that are both believable and fun
• Experience in experiential design (out of engine)
• Experience leading a team
• Experience collaborating with Artists, Animation SEs and Animators
• Appetite for taking on 'Product Owner' responsibilities
• Positive, proactive, hands-on attitude
• Passion for Sports and Sports Video Games

Responsibilities

• Acquire intimate knowledge of target player, product goals, and competitive landscape
• Work with Design Director and Art Director to define vision for the world
• Collaborate with QA team to drive testing of game experience
• Create playable blockouts of large-scale open zones focusing on readability, navigation, and gameplay
• Iterate on level layouts based on playtest feedback
• Collaborate with Artists, Engineers, Animators, and Technical partners
• Use Unreal debugging tools to diagnose logic errors, collision issues, and streaming glitches
• Hook up quest objectives to global game systems (UI trackers, save/load, reputation)
• Collaborate with Narrative Designers to script dialogue triggers, cutscenes, and environmental storytelling using Blueprints and Sequencer
• Use level design skills to augment team capacity during prototyping
