Description

You will define the technical direction for MongoDB's Search and Vector Search capabilities, shaping the foundation of how developers build applications with MongoDB. You'll own critical infrastructure, drive cross-team initiatives, and mentor engineers to raise the team's technical ceiling.

Requirements

• 10+ years in data management systems or distributed infrastructure
• Java fluency preferred
• Experience designing operating distributed systems or cloud services at scale
• Ability to reason about data consistency, durability, concurrency, and failure modes
• Track record of operating at Staff or Principal scope

Responsibilities

• Own cross-system data infrastructure for next-gen Search and Vector Search
• Define technical roadmap for Atlas Search
• Lead architecture and evolution of core mongot and Mongo Management Service infrastructure
• Drive complex multi-team initiatives and build technical consensus
• Serve as technical partner to leadership on roadmap and architecture
• Raise technical ceiling through mentoring and knowledge-sharing
• Standardize contracting between global engineering teams
