Description

You'll own the Android platform powering Caper smart carts and checkout devices, ensuring 99.9% uptime. You'll design robust connectivity layers, integrate payment terminals, optimize sensor pipelines, and modernize app architecture while mentoring senior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years Android development with Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack
• Expertise in edge-device networking (MQTT, connectivity management, offline sync)
• Experience integrating hardware peripherals (payment terminals, barcode/RFID/sensors)
• Cross-team technical leadership and mentoring skills
• Proficiency with modern Android tooling (multi-module, Dagger/Hilt, Gradle, CI/CD)

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and performance for Android platform on Caper devices
• Design and harden connectivity layers (MQTT, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, offline-first sync)
• Integrate and secure payment terminal workflows (EMV/contactless)
• Build real-time data pipelines for sensors and peripherals
• Modernize Android architecture (Kotlin, Jetpack, multi-module, CI/CD)
