Description

Lead laboratory investigations and drug development efforts focused on cardiovascular diseases during aging, designing and executing research strategies to identify and validate novel drug targets. Contribute directly to developing therapeutics aimed at improving cardiovascular healthspan.

Requirements

• MD/PhD or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with emphasis on cardiovascular or aging-related diseases
• 5-10 years experience in cardiovascular research with track record of impactful publications/patents
• Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular biology and aging-related disease mechanisms
• Experience with in vitro and in vivo cardiovascular disease model systems
• Creative and critical thinking, excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a laboratory team focused on cardiovascular diseases of aging for drug target identification and validation
• Develop and execute innovative research strategies to identify and validate novel drug targets
• Oversee design and implementation of in vitro and in vivo studies for proof of concept for new therapeutics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery programs
• Represent the company at scientific conferences and meetings
